Kane delivered a masterclass in the November 22 clash, scoring all three of Bayern’s goals. However, it was his third and final strike in stoppage time that left fans in awe in the Bundesliga fixture. As a long ball from Leon Goretzka was floated into the box, Kane produced an acrobatic kung-fu-style control with his right foot, setting himself up perfectly before nodding the ball into the net past goalkeeper Nediljko Labrovic, who stood no chance.

The breathtaking strike was recognized by Sportschau’s annual poll, which has been running since 1971. More than 280,000 people participated in the voting process, selecting from the 12 Goal of the Month winners throughout the year. Kane’s goal secured a commanding 33.11% of the total votes, finishing well ahead of Bayer Leverkusen’s Florian Wirtz, who placed second with 14.61% of the vote. Kane’s triumph also made history, as he became the first English player to claim the award in over five decades of its existence.

The accolades didn’t stop there for the prolific forward. Kane continued his impressive run of form by scoring twice on Saturday in Bayern’s dominant win over Holstein Kiel. The victory further solidified the club’s position at the top of the Bundesliga, extending their lead to nine points. The match was a landmark occasion for Kane, as it marked his 50th Bundesliga appearance. True to form, he celebrated the milestone by making history, as no player has ever scored as many goals in their first 50 Bundesliga games as the England skipper.

    WHAT LUCY BRONZE SAID

The ambitious England international defender told of collective goals in west London: "We're trying to win four trophies and that's difficult. We wanted to get a good stretch of points [to be in a good position] when we're in the thick of it in March, April and May. It's difficult [then] and you might drop points but we're in a good place now and we're on the up. We want to go the season unbeaten.

"There's records out there to break. Chelsea's a team that has always wanted to do that. We've never clinched the Champions League. We've got five league titles in a row but [going] unbeaten [would be] unbelievable. We're on a good road to doing that."

Chelsea have previously enjoyed two unbeaten WSL campaigns, in 2017-18 and 2019-20, during an era of domestic dominance under current USWNT coach Emma Hayes. All Rhodes lead to quarter-finals as Birmingham Bears' perfect start continues

Will Rhodes, Birmingham Bears’ captain, posted a T20 career-best 79 as the North Group leaders notched a fourth consecutive win and consigned Leicestershire to a fifth straight defeat in the Vitality Blast.Sam Hain overtook Ian Bell as the Bears’ all-time top scorer in the format in making 45 as they racked up 191 for 7. Ben Mike took a career-best 4 for 22 bowling two death overs but Naveen-ul-Haq was the pick of the Foxes’ bowlers with 2 for 20 from his four.Scott Steel made 46 and Rishi Patel 30 but after losing three key batters in the powerplay, Leicestershire were always off the pace and fell 35 runs short, Tim Bresnan taking 3 for 29 and Danny Briggs 3 for 35.Asked to bat first, the Bears lost both openers to Naveen’s slower balls, Ed Pollock miscuing his to short fine leg and Pieter Malan spooning one to mid-on, which left Bears 42 for 2 from the powerplay. But Rhodes, dropped off Colin Ackermann on 27 when Naveen misjudged a chance at long-on, hit clearly to clear the ropes five times as he and Hain added 113 from 62 balls before Rhodes mistimed one to caught at square leg.”I think I’ve owed the lads a performance like that,” Rhodes said afterwards. “I’ve had a fairly bleak three or four months with the bat and to hit a few over the ropes is really pleasing.”Related

Hain looked set for a fourth half-century in five innings but going after Ben Mike he holed out to long-on, where Lewis Hill took a fine catch above his head, with Carlos Brathwaite caught at wide long-off in the same over.Mike claimed two more in the final over, tracking a skier from Michael Burgess out to midwicket for a return catch, before Dan Mousley hit the next ball straight to deep point, although Bresnan pulled the hat-trick ball for six and overthrows made for an untidy end.Josh Inglis hit two of his first three balls to the boundary as Briggs opened the bowling for the Bears, but he was bowled trying to cut, setting the tone for a costly powerplay for the Foxes, who also lost Lilley to a stumping off Briggs, and Ackermann to a slower ball from Bresnan that he hit straight to mid-on to leave them 48 for 3.Rishi Patel raised Leicestershire’s hopes with 30 from 25 balls and as he and Steel added 51 off 39 the Foxes needed 92 from eight overs. But after Patel’s flick off his legs found the fielder at square leg, Steel was beaten by Briggs and stumped, with Louis Kimber run out in the same over.Hill was left unbeaten on 26 but wickets fell quickly at the other end, Bresnan dismissing Mike and claiming his third wicket off the last ball as Ed Barnes holed out to deep midwicket.”It’s a very disappointing night for us,” Paul Nixon, Leicestershire’s head coach, said. “We had a really good bowling powerplay but there was a bit of a breeze down the ground and the Bears used it as they targeted the Pavilion end, scoring about 100 in eight overs. They looked a side full of confidence.”We didn’t field well again – the catch dropped off Hain should have been taken. There were too many expensive overs and when we batted there were too many soft dismissals. The first three dismissals essentially gave their wickets away.”

So, it is a benefit to every one of us.”Earlier this year, West Indies beat Bangladesh 2-0 away before drawing the two-match home Test series against Sri Lanka 0-0. Leeds now go back for attacker who’s "such a threat" after £40m Rutter sale

Leeds are reportedly now making a move for an attacker who's been called "such a threat" with his pace, as Elland Road transfer chiefs scour the market for options after losing Georginio Rutter to Brighton.

Farke admits Leeds need to sign two new attackers

Following Rutter's £40 million move to the Amex, which happened due to the Seagulls triggering his release clause, manager Daniel Farke has candidly admitted to the press that his side quite simply need to bring in multiple new attackers.

Leeds now hold concrete interest in signing "fantastic" new promotion rival

The Whites are still looking for attacking reinforcements.

As well as losing Rutter to the Premier League, Farke has also been left wondering who can replace the goalscoring threat left by Crysencio Summerville, who joined West Ham in a deal worth upwards of £25 million around a fortnight ago.

“I stick to what I said. We need cover at full-back, a midfielder, a winger or offensive player and after Georgi a second offensive player," said Farke on Leeds' need for new signings before August 30.

“They need the full package in all areas. You are not a top player unless you deliver goals and assists. They have to fit personality and mentality and be affordable. Not easy to attract this quality. Easier in the PL. This is what we work on.

“I know our key people are working hard behind the scenes. I know when there are no incoming there is stress, but I talk to them every day and they know what I want. I am carefully optimistic something will happen.”

A few names have been linked with moves to Yorkshire, both in the wake of Rutter's exit and beforehand. Leeds still hold a keen interest in Norwich City star Jonathan Rowe, who is viewed as a "priority" target for the Championship side.

"Leeds United would still like Jonathan Rowe," said journalist Ben Jacobs to GiveMeSport this week. "He's a priority name. We know it's Marseille that have been the club bidding, but Leeds could enter that race because Marseille haven't agreed a deal.

"Norwich want in excess of £10million and maybe with add-ons now even closer to £15million, and it might be that a [Georginio] Rutter departure allows Leeds to make a competitive bid, so that could be one to watch."

As well as Rowe, Leeds are targeting Stoke City's Million Manehof, but it is unclear whether the Potters would sell after only just bringing him in earlier this year.

Leeds going back in for Rangers forward Rabbi Matondo

Farke's side have been linked with another option, Rangers forward and Wales international Rabbi Matondo, but reports during the week suggested their interest had cooled and they would not be signing the Ibrox talent.

Rangers winger Rabbi Matondo.

The 23-year-old, who registered 10 goals contributions in all competitions under Philippe Clement last term, has been praised by Robert Page for being "such a threat with his pace", and it seems this saga has taken another u-turn as the Whites are now set to go back in for the winger.

As per Football Insider, Leeds are making a move for Matondo this summer and Rangers are open to doing business with them, but is unclear just how much the Glasgow giants will demand for their winger or if Leeds' interest will actually stick this time.

Fidel Edwards targets West Indies comeback after end of Kolpak status

Fast bowler still exceeding 90mph at age of 39, and plans on entering IPL auction

Fidel Edwards has made himself available for West Indies and hopes to return to international cricket for the first time in almost 10 years.Edwards celebrates his 39th birthday this week and last represented West Indies in 2012. But, reasoning he is as fit now as he has ever been, he believes he could play a part in West Indies’ T20 World Cup campaign later in the year.He also hopes he can secure a return to the IPL. He last played a match in the tournament in 2009 – he was part of the Deccan Chargers side that won the tournament – but will put himself into the auction this year.”I have made myself available for West Indies,” Edwards, who is currently representing Delhi Bulls in the Abu Dhabi T10 tournament, told ESPNcricinfo. “I have spoken to Kieron Pollard and Phil Simmons and let them know that, if there’s any opportunity, I’m ready.”Training has always been a big part of my game but, in the last 18 months or so, I’ve changed what I do and I’m the fittest I’ve ever felt.”I’ve had my time in England and now I’ve made myself available to represent West Indies again. I think I did pretty well in the CPL and I’m keeping my fingers crossed.”Related

Mujeeb Ur Rahman and Fidel Edwards dismantle Guyana Amazon Warriors

Edwards’ availability for both West Indies and the IPL is due, in part, to Brexit. The UK’s departure from the European Union has put an end to Kolpak registrations in the county game and means that Edwards, who signed such a deal with Hampshire in 2015, is free to play international cricket again. And while Kolpak registrations were theoretically entitled to play in the IPL, Edwards was obliged to remain available for Hampshire for the entire season and was not, therefore, free to enter the auction.”I enjoyed my time at Hampshire, but that was a big part of me not playing in the IPL,” he says. “But now I’m not with them, my aim is to put my name back out there and hopefully get another chance to play. Anything is possible.”Although few 39-year-old fast bowlers win top-level comebacks, Edwards does have some skills that West Indies – and some IPL teams, no doubt – may require. Not least, he can bowl in both the powerplay and at the death and he can still generate sharp pace. In the most recent CPL season, he was timed at over 148 kph (92 mph) and dominated the list of quickest deliveries in the tournament. He isn’t ruling out playing 50-over or even first-class cricket again, either.”I still love the game,” he says, “and I’m still doing what I do best: bowling quickly and taking wickets. You never know what can happen. But if the opportunity comes, I’ll be ready.

Le Bris must instantly ditch Sunderland gem who’s worth more than Neil

There must have been a palpable sense of relief from Sunderland supporters when Regis Le Bris' appointment was confirmed late last week, finally bringing to an end the Black Cats' drawn-out search for a new manager.

The ex-Lorient head coach put pen to paper on a three-year deal at the club on Friday, eager now to get down to work and restore pride into the Wearside outfit again after a poor season saw Sunderland finish in a lowly 16th spot.

Regis Le Bris for Lorient.

The new French boss will no doubt want a number of incomings to stamp his authority but there could also be some outgoings too, which may well include one of his former players at Lorient being moved on.

Aouchiche's time at Lorient

Sunderland fans might have been excited by the prospect of Adil Aouchiche and what he could do this coming season after shining in spurts last campaign, despite such a poor overall year for the team.

The daring 21-year-old would help himself to a promising five goal contributions from 30 games in all competitions, but could find his fledging Sunderland career cut short with Le Bris rarely using him when the two were at Lorient together.

Former Lorient midfielder Adil Aouchiche.

Aouchiche would only end up making 13 appearances for his ex-employers with Les Bris at the helm, with just one league start handed out to the 5 foot 11 attacking midfielder during the 2022/23 campaign by the new Black Cats manager, before leaving for England under his tenure.

The Sunderland number 22 would also be demoted to the Lorient B team on one occasion by the 48-year-old, with Aouchiche fearing now that he could be chucked to one side by Le Bris again, especially with the likes of Jobe Bellingham looking to nail down that number ten role as his own soon.

Now, he could be heading towards a premature Stadium of Light exit, if Le Bris decides the 21-year-old isn't to his liking again.

Aouchiche's transfer value at Sunderland

This doesn't have to be a crushing development, with Aouchiche's estimated transfer valuation – according to Football Transfers – making him a more valuable asset than first-team regular Dan Neil currently.

Sunderland midfielder Dan Neil.

Although the attacking midfielder only started ten of the 28 Championship games he amassed last campaign, Aouchiche's valuation still stands at a hefty £4.8m, which means the Black Cats could cash in and not feel too disheartened.

For a player who was once purchased on a free transfer by Lorient, Sunderland would be in for some pretty profit, you imagine, if they did sell him on.

Neil, who featured in all but four of his side's 46 league games in contrast, finds his valuation surprisingly at a lesser £4.5m, meaning Sunderland might strike whilst the iron is hot and offload Aouchiche soon, before his value takes a hit.

1. Anthony Patterson

£10.9m

2. Jack Clarke

£7m

3. Jobe Bellingham

£6.9m

4. Trai Hume

£5.5m

5. Abdoullah Ba

£4.9m

Aouchiche isn't even that far off entering the top five table above when looking at the highest-valued players currently on Wearside, with the former Paris St. Germain youngster's pedigree in the game clearly outweighing his mediocre debut season in England.

It will be intriguing to see if the new manager does give Aouchiche a fair shot after discarding him at Lorient, with Neil, on the contrary, presumably a guaranteed first-teamer if the 22-year-old commits his future at the Stadium of Light, after rumours circulated he was unsettled with no boss occupying the dug-out.

Le Bris will just hope he can be the fresh injection of life the Black Cats need in the manager's hot seat next season, as Sunderland eye up a much higher finish than their car-crash 2023/24 offering.
