Martin Odegaard showed Arsenal what they had been missing as he returned to the starting XI and inspired them to a second successive Champions League victory, with goals from Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka seeing them to a 2-0 win against Olympiacos.

The Gunners skipper was at his sparkling best at times, especially in the first half, and it was his pass to Victor Gyokeres that led to Martinelli opening the scoring when he tapped in from close range after the Swedish striker's effort had come back off the post.

Arsenal then wasted several chances to extend their lead and had to endure a few nervy moments late on before Saka came off the bench to finish the game off, drilling a finish between Olympiacos keeper Kostas Tzolakis' legs after being picked out by Odegaard.

  Wasn't called into action much, but produced one outstanding save in the first half to keep the score at 1-0. Commanded his box well in the second half.

  Ran out of steam a bit quite early in the second half, but good to see him back in the starting XI. Got forward well before the break.

  Put under some pressure in the second half but absorbed it well. Few nervy moments, mainly due to the full-backs around him who looked understandably rusty. Went off after receiving some treatment for what could have been a shoulder injury.

  Similar to his centre-back partner. Put under more pressure than he would probably would have expected. But dealt it with it well.

  Took a few risks when in possession, but they paid off more often than not. Important minutes from the start for a player who has not had many this season.

  He'll be disappointed he didn't score because he had the chances. But he and Arsenal will take a lot from this performance. His runs were excellent and he was being found regularly. You can see the chemistry building between him and the team.

  Put a decent chance over in the first half and missed another good one after the break. Bright and lively on the left, showed good strength at times as well, but his finishing was wayward.

Nottingham Forest are now “starting” talks to sign an “incredible” forward, who could be in line to join alongside Bologna’s Dan Ndoye, according to reporter John Percy.

With Anthony Elanga joining Newcastle United, one of Nuno Espirito Santo’s most important tasks this summer was to bring in a new winger, and Fabrizio Romano has revealed a deal is now in place for Ndoye, with the Bologna forward set to travel to England for a medical very soon.

Given that Elanga is well-known for being a “constant direct threat”, it was important for Nuno to bring in a replacement also capable of driving at opposition defences, and the Swiss winger ranks in the 92nd percentile for progressive carries per 90 over the past year.

Despite the deal for Ndoye recently edging closer to completion, the Tricky Trees remain interested in signing another new winger this summer, and Nuno is now targeting a reunion with one of his former players…

That is according to Percy, who recently reported that Nottingham Forest are now “starting” talks with Fulham over a potential deal for Adama Traore, with the winger emerging as a serious target, given that Nuno is prioritising the additions of new wide men.

Much like Ndoye, the £65k-a-week Spaniard is a skilled dribbler of the ball, while he also ranks very highly for assists per 90 over the course of the past year, when compared to other wingers and attacking midfielders.

Lauded as “incredible” by journalist Arjun Pradeep, the former Barcelona man is also well-known for his “electric” pace, which could make him an ideal signing for Nuno, given that the manager implemented a counter-attacking style of play last season.

With Forest set to embark on a Europa League campaign in the 2025-25 campaign, it is very important that Nuno has considerable strength in depth, so it would be a smart move to try and get a deal for Traore over the line alongside Ndoye.

Spurs could be forced to sell at least one overseas star this summer due to UEFA Champions League squad rules and their current abundance of non-locally trained players, according to a recent report from the Telegraph, and they have a few options to choose from.

Son Heung-min, Bryan Gil, Manor Solomon, Richarlison and Cristian Romero, alongside Bissouma, have all been linked with moves away from N17 this summer. A couple of them could realistically follow goalkeeper Josh Keeley out of the door, with the Irishman on the verge of a reported £1 million move to Luton Town (Alasdair Gold).

Romero has attracted serious interest from Atlético Madrid for months, even if we’ve seen reports of a move to La Liga die down recently, while both Bryan Gil and Manor Solomon appear to be prime candidates for the chopping block after spending 2024/2025 out on loan elsewhere.

Meanwhile, Richarlison is a wanted man in both Brazil and Saudi Arabia, with journalist Leonardo Lacenda recently reporting that Vasco de Gama president, Pedrinho, personally phoned the striker recently.

“It’s happening! President Pedrinho, accompanied by a member of the Vasco leadership, contacted Richarlison directly through a phone call,” said Lacerda, via Bolavip.

“The goal was to get a closer look at the striker’s situation, as he’s unlikely to remain at Tottenham next season. In addition to Vasco, the striker is attracting interest from Fluminense, Flamengo, and Palmeiras. Two Saudi Arabian clubs have also entered the fray—Al Ahli and Al Ittihad.”

Murmurs of a Son Heung-min exit, after links with a move to Saudi and Los Angeles FC, have gone fairly quiet – but the same cannot be said of Bissouma.

Last week, it was reported that a Fenerbahçe representative flew to London for talks with the midfielder (Yağız Sabuncuoğlu), with the Telegraph stating he’s a likely high-profile sale before deadline day on September 1.

Now, journalist Graeme Bailey has shared more on the 28-year-old’s future in a piece for TBR Football.

It’s claimed that Bissouma is informed that he’s free to leave Spurs in the coming weeks, even if he’ll only do so for the right offer, but Tottenham are already moving for a potential replacement in the form of £166,000-per-week Bayern Munich midfielder Joao Palhinha.

The former Fulham star sealed his long-awaited move to the Allianz Arena last summer for an initial £43 million, but his switch has been far from plane sailing. The 30-year-old’s debut season at Bayern was marred by injury and a lack of playing time, with a return to the Premier League already on the cards.

Bailey reports that Tottenham have held new talks with Palhinha’s representatives in the last week, so the Portugal international is emerging as a serious option to succeed Bissouma after a few impressive years at Craven Cottage.

As Manchester United look to balance their books this summer amid early incomings, Al-Nassr could now reportedly offer INEOS their biggest payday of the window in pursuit of an attacking ace.

With Matheus Cunha already signed and Bryan Mbeumo reportedly likely to follow suit, Manchester United will have little choice but to clear some room in Ruben Amorim’s squad.

In what feels like a never-ending cycle, the Red Devils must rebuild once again and, in doing so, show the door to any unwanted stars in a ruthless summer plan.

Among those heading for the exit door is likely to be Rasmus Hojlund. The struggling striker has never truly made his mark at Old Trafford, despite costing an eye-watering £72m in 2023. Now, two years on, Inter Milan have reportedly come calling for his signature in a deal that could eventually cost around £38m.

Whether Hojlund, himself, accepts a summer departure may be another question, though. The young forward told Danish media when questioned about his Manchester United future this week: “I have a contract until 2030, so I expect to play for Manchester United. I’m looking forward to going on a summer vacation, and then I’m fully dedicated to the project that’s underway.

“I know I can’t get much out of reading things. I know what the facts are, and that is that I have a contract with Manchester United until 2030. I expect to play there, so I’m just getting ready for some summer vacation and then hopefully a good pre-season.”

Al Nassr now eyeing Garnacho swoop

One player who has looked almost certain to be heading for the exit door ever since Amorim arrived is Alejandro Garnacho. In Amorim’s first Manchester derby, the Argentine found himself dropped alongside Marcus Rashford. The latter soon left on loan and went on to thrive at Aston Villa. Garnacho, however, stayed put but things have not become better in recent months.

Now, according to The Mirror, Al-Nassr could hand INEOS their biggest payday of the summer by signing Garnacho. The Saudi giants have been pursuing a move to sign Luis Diaz from Liverpool, but may turn towards the £50,000-a-week winger if the Premier League champions remain reluctant to sell their South American star.

If that does prove to be the case, Amorim may well be glad to see the back of the winger after Garnacho publicly disagreed with his decision to start Mason Mount in his place in the Europa League final.

Since then, Amorim has reportedly told the young winger to find a new club in front of the rest of his teammates in a public dressing down. Unless anything dramatic happens at this stage, Garnacho’s exit is one that would be best for all parties.

Chelsea are still on the hunt for another striker, despite already signing Liam Delap in time for the Club World Cup, but this is a transfer which may have to wait until further down the line this summer.

Despite scoring in the Conference League final against Real Betis, helping Chelsea win their first major trophy under Maresca in the process, it has been a tough 2025 for Nicolas Jackson.

The Senegalese has scored just one Premier League goal this calendar year and suffered a real downturn in form beyond the turn of the year, combined with injuries and suspensions.

While Chelsea aren’t pushing Jackson out of the door, it is believed that they will listen to suitable offers, with Manchester United, Aston Villa, Inter Milan, and Atletico Madrid all expressing an interest recently (Simon Phillips).

His departure could also prove key to Chelsea making room for another prolific centre-forward after Delap, which is something Stamford Bridge officials are apparently keen to do.

One name has dominated the headlines when it comes to BlueCo potentially bringing in another new number nine – Eintracht Frankfurt star Hugo Ekitike.

Chelsea have held talks with Eintracht over a deal for Ekitike, and even mooted the possibility of players going the other way in a part-exchange.

The Frenchman is also said to be very keen on a move to west London (Simon Phillips), but the sticking point throughout this saga has been Ekitike’s lofty £84 million asking price.

The 22-year-old is fresh off the back of an electric campaign, scoring 22 goals and assisting 12 others in all competitions, which has prompted his side to stand firm over a sky-high price in negotiations so far.

However, according to TEAMtalk, Chelsea may not have to go that high after all.

As per their information, the club’s recruitment team hold a genuine belief that Ekitike will end up rivaling Newcastle United star Alexander Isak, with Chelsea making him a “high-priority” target as a result.

It is also believed that £65 million could even be enough for Chelsea to sign Ekitike this summer, and their public £84 million valuation is merely “posturing” in an attempt to look strong during negotiations.

The report adds that Chelsea have been in direct contact with the former PSG striker’s camp, echoing other media sources, but the complexity of this deal means this could be one that remains ongoing for a while yet.

In any case, he is clearly highly-rated within Cobham, not to mention the rest of the footballing world.

“I might say something really crazy, but I’ll say it anyway: I think he’s a mix between Neymar and [Kylian] Mbappé. I sincerely think so,” said former Netherlands star Wesley Sneijder.

“He has the grace of Neymar, but also the movements of Mbappé. To suddenly accelerate, that’s something that Mbappé also has. And he’s only 22 years old. There’s really a lot of potential in this boy.”

Hammers now seven games without win after Brighton loss

Luckily for West Ham, last season’s three promoted Championship sides have found it very difficult to adapt to life in the Premier League, which means they are now mathematically safe, but it has been a season to forget.

After the 3-2 defeat against Brighton & Hove Albion at the weekend, the Hammers are now seven games without a win, and they are sitting 17th in the table with just four games left to play, which indicates a major revamp of the squad could be needed.

In light of the poor results, questions are now being asked about manager Graham Potter, who admitted he was in “pain” after his side capitulated against the Seagulls, conceding two late goals to lose the game 3-2.

It remains to be seen whether Potter is given time to turn the situation around, but there could be a major rebuild regardless of which manager is in the dugout next season, although the Irons may have to cash-in on a star player to fund it.

That is according to a report from The Express, which states West Ham are now considering the sale of Lucas Paqueta to fund the overhaul of their squad this summer.

Mohammed Kudus’ departure could also be sanctioned, amid interest from Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr, who will have the opportunity to sign the Ghanaian for £85m.

As such, Paqueta and Kudus’ futures at the London Stadium appear to be up in the air, but one player who the Hammers are unwilling to sell is Jarrod Bowen, with the England international deemed to be untouchable.

The Brazilian has been a key player for the Hammers this season, making 30 appearances in the Premier League, but he has largely been ineffective, picking up just four goals and failing to record an assist.

The attacking midfielder is without a goal contribution in his last ten outings, and he is clearly finding it difficult to rediscover his best form, having previously been lauded as “incredible” in a West Ham shirt.

That said, the whole team has fallen way short of expectations this season, and the 27-year-old may flourish in a better side, should the Irons make the correct additions to their squad this summer.

It may be a little early to cash-in on the £150k-a-week maestro, and his sale is unlikely to raise a great deal of money regardless, with recent reports suggesting Paqueta could be sold for just £20m.
